✈︎ About the A-10 Thunderbolt II

This A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft print presents the iconic close air support aircraft in a disciplined top-down perspective, revealing the distinctive geometry of one of the most recognisable aircraft in modern military aviation.

The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II was developed for the United States Air Force in the 1970s as a dedicated close air support aircraft. Designed around the powerful GAU-8 Avenger rotary cannon, it was built to provide direct support to ground forces and operate in high-threat environments.

Unlike fast jet fighters, the A-10 prioritises survivability and stability. Straight wings, twin turbofan engines mounted high on the fuselage, and a broad tailplane give the aircraft its distinctive and highly functional silhouette. From above, the aircraft reveals a purposeful layout centred on durability and mission effectiveness.

Often referred to as the Warthog, the A-10 remains one of the most recognisable aircraft in modern military aviation.

✈︎ About the Artwork

A top-down study of the A-10 Thunderbolt II, focused on its broad wing, twin-engine layout and unmistakable profile.

Rendered in bold line work, the aircraft is reduced to a strong graphic form that reflects its rugged design philosophy. The shark-teeth motif commonly associated with the Warthog is integrated into the composition as a subtle reference to its operational identity.

Metallic silver ink references aerospace materials, while Morse code typography connects contemporary combat aviation with the early language of flight.
